Where does it actually go?
Most people can name their salary to the pound and have no idea what they spend. Connect your bank — read-only — and we'll sort the last few months automatically. Earnings, spending and saving, in one honest picture, then a proper conversation about it.
£39
Free if you're already a Buzz Accounting client. One payment, no subscription, nothing to cancel.

Three steps. No spreadsheets.
The whole thing takes about a week end to end, and most of that is you waiting for the session. Your part is roughly two minutes of setup.
- 1Connect your bank
You sign in on your own bank's website — we never see your login. The connection is read-only, so nobody can move your money. Ever. Takes about two minutes, and you can add more than one account if your money is spread about.
- 2See the real picture
Your spending is sorted into categories automatically. You'll see what's committed, what's living, what's lifestyle, and what actually reaches your savings. Your coach checks the categories before your session, because automatic sorting always gets a few things wrong.
- 3Talk it through
A 45-minute session with a Buzz money coach turns the numbers into one habit worth changing. You leave with your figures written down and a single agreed action — not a list of twelve.
Four numbers that explain your month.
Committed
Rent, bills, insurance, repayments. The floor under your month, before you choose anything.
Living
Food, fuel, getting about. Essential, but with more room in it than most people think.
Lifestyle
Everything you chose. No judgement — this is simply where habits show up.
Saving
What reaches your future self. For most people this is the number that surprises them.
Those four numbers are the whole point. Once you can say "my committed costs are X, so my real floor is X", every other money decision gets easier — whether you can drop a day a week, whether the mortgage is comfortable, whether you can afford the thing you've been arguing about.
What you actually get for £39.
Your categorised spending
Several months of real transactions sorted into committed, living, lifestyle and saving — reviewed by a person before you see the final version.
A 45-minute session
Online, one to one, with a Buzz money coach. Not a demo and not a sales call — the session is the product.
One agreed action
Written down, with a date. The most useful outcome is usually one number moved, not a whole new system.
What happens after you pay
You connect your accounts, we prepare your figures, and you book a 45-minute slot that suits you. Before the session your coach goes through the categorisation and flags anything odd — a subscription you've forgotten, a direct debit going somewhere you no longer recognise, a month that doesn't look like the others. In the session we go through the four numbers, agree one action and set a date to check it. If nothing useful comes out of it, say so and we won't chase you.
How long it takes
Two minutes to connect. A few days for your coach to prepare and for you to find a slot. Forty-five minutes for the session itself. That's it — this is deliberately a small piece of work, not an engagement.
Who it suits — and who it doesn't.
Worth £39 if…
- Your income is decent and you still can't say where it goes
- You've started a budget three times and abandoned it three times
- You're about to take on a mortgage, a baby or a drop in hours
- You and your partner have different ideas about what you spend
- You want real numbers, not a self-assessment
Not for you if…
- You already track your spending properly and act on it
- You're in debt difficulty — free specialist help is faster and better
- You want a product or investment recommendation — that's regulated advice
- You won't connect a bank account, even read-only
- You want someone to take the decisions for you
Is this safe, and is it worth it?
Can anyone move my money?
No. The connection is read-only: it can see transactions and balances, and that is the only thing it can ever do. There is no mechanism inside it for making a payment, changing a standing order or moving a penny between accounts — not by your coach, and not by anyone who got hold of our systems. Read-only is not a setting we chose and could quietly change later; it is the type of access we are granted. The link runs through an FCA-authorised open banking provider, the same regulated plumbing your banking app uses when it shows you an account held elsewhere. You can withdraw the permission whenever you like, from your bank's app as well as from us.
Do you see my banking login?
No. You are sent to your own bank's website or app to sign in, exactly as you would to check a balance, and you approve the connection there. Your username, password and any codes are typed into your bank's page rather than ours, and none of it is passed to us or stored anywhere in our systems. What comes back afterwards is transaction data — dates, amounts, merchant names — and nothing that could be used to get into your account. If you ever land on a page with a Buzz logo asking for banking credentials, it is not us: close it and email hello@buzzmoneycoach.com.
Who sees my data, and how long do you keep it?
Your coach, so they can prepare for your session, and nobody else. It is not passed to Buzz Financial Services, a lender or any provider. Transaction data sits in Supabase, encrypted in transit and at rest and processed in the EU; your client file sits in Plannr, the CRM coaches work from. Coaching records are kept for six years from the end of the relationship, which follows standard practice for financial records, and you can ask for deletion at any point by emailing hello@buzzmoneycoach.com — we reply within 30 days. We do not sell data and run no advertising tracking. Your full UK GDPR rights are set out in the privacy notice.
Can I change my mind?
Yes. Disconnect in one click and the transaction data goes with it, and you can revoke the connection from your own bank's app whether or not you tell us. If you want to cancel before the session, email hello@buzzmoneycoach.com and a person will deal with it — but tell us early, because by the time your figures are prepared and hand-checked most of the work is already done. There is nothing to cancel afterwards: the £39 is a single payment for a single piece of work, with no subscription behind it, nothing that renews and no account left open.
Why is it not free?
Because free sessions get booked and not attended. £39 is set at the point where booking it means you intend to turn up, and low enough that nobody can reasonably think they are being softened up for something bigger — no business runs on a £39 product. It also pays for the part you do not see: a coach going through your categorisation line by line beforehand, flagging the subscriptions you have forgotten and the direct debits going somewhere you no longer recognise. If £39 is genuinely the obstacle, do the Financial Freedom Score instead. It is free, takes seven minutes and still tells you which area to work on first.
Why is it free for Buzz Accounting clients?
Because we already hold a good deal of your financial information, so the preparation is quicker, and because it is a better use of the relationship than another cross-sell email. Say you are a Buzz Accounting client when you book and there is nothing to pay — you do not need to prove anything, we will check at our end. That applies to the Health Check for every client, whatever package you are on. The £299 Financial Roadmap is a separate case: it is included free on selected packages only, so ask us to check yours before you pay for it rather than afterwards.
What if I will not connect a bank account?
Then this is not the right product for you, and that is a perfectly reasonable position to take. The whole thing is built on real transaction data — without it a coach is working from your recollection of what you spend, which is the exact thing the Health Check exists to correct. There is no version we run from memory or from a form you fill in. What you can do instead is the free Financial Freedom Score, which is entirely self-rated and touches nothing, or go straight to the Financial Roadmap at £299, where the fact-find works from documents and statements you bring rather than a live connection.
Should I do this or the Freedom Score first?
Do the Score first: it is free, takes about seven minutes, and it tells you which of the eight areas to point the Health Check at. The two answer different questions. The Score is how you think you are doing across cash flow, budget, buffer, borrowing, savings, protection, future planning and confidence. The Health Check is what your bank statements say you actually did over the last few months. People are often steadier than they feared on one and worse than they assumed on the other, and the gap between the two is usually the most interesting thing in the session. If you already know your weak area and want the numbers, skip straight to the £39.
Will you try to sell me something?
You will be told what we think the sensible next step is, and often that is nothing. The session ends with one agreed action, and the most common ones cost nothing: move a standing order to the day after payday, cancel two subscriptions, open a separate account for the buffer. If the £299 Roadmap would genuinely help, we will say so once and leave it with you — there is no follow-up sequence and nobody rings a week later. What we will never do is recommend a pension, investment, mortgage or protection policy, because that is regulated advice and we are not authorised to give it. No provider pays us anything for any suggestion we make.
This is coaching, not financial advice. We help you see your own money and change your own habits — we don't recommend products, providers, investments or debt solutions. Bank data is read-only, through an FCA-authorised open banking provider. If you're struggling with debt, free specialist help is available from StepChange and National Debtline.
